Are you a crafter? Do you love to do crafts in your spare time or are you just looking for some new ideas to keep yourself busy on the weekends? Either way, this blog post is perfect for you! We’ll be discussing five different gadgets that will make crafting easier and more enjoyable. Whether it’s organizing your supplies, keeping track of what projects you have going on at any given time, or even checking out tutorials online- these gadgets have got your back!
Planner/Calendar
First, let’s start with something that many crafters are already likely to own- a planner! Regardless of whether you’re the kind of person who keeps your schedule in their phone or one who prefers physical calendars and planners, it is important for any craft enthusiast looking to stay on top of all the projects they have going. Having a designated spot to track due dates, important notes, and when you last worked on each project is key in avoiding any overlap or missed deadlines. There are plenty of great planners out there specifically tailored for crafters, but any old planner will do in a pinch!

Just be sure that if you’re using a physical calendar, you have a good system in place for keeping track of which projects go where. This way, if you switch from a physical planner to an electronic one down the road, it will be easy to transfer your schedule over.
Crafting Table
If you’re fortunate enough to have a designated crafting area in your home- even better! A crafting table is the perfect place to organize all of your supplies and keep them within reach while you work. It can also be helpful to have a light source nearby, whether it’s a desk lamp or an overhead light. This will help minimize any distractions so you can focus on crafting! Depending on where your table is, it might be helpful to have a trash bin or recycling area close by as well. This will help keep the work space clean and tidy so that there’s nothing in the way of getting craft projects finished.
If you’re not fortunate enough to own an entire room for yourself, you can always get away with using a table or desk that’s tucked into an unused corner of your home. No worries, though! There are plenty of ways to get organized and craft without owning a crafting table- it just might take some more planning on your part.
Notebook
The number three spot goes to the humble notebook! Whether you prefer the simplicity of a spiral bound notebook or the flexibility and durability of one with removable pages, having someplace to jot down your ideas is incredibly useful.
The possibilities are endless- you can write lists, keep track of patterns and tutorials that inspire you, sketch out new projects before diving into them headfirst…the list goes on! If you’re the kind of crafter who’s constantly coming up with new ideas, it can be helpful to have someplace you know you’ll always be able to find them.
Desktop Organizer
Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s discuss a few gadgets aimed at helping keep your work space organized and clutter-free! The fourth spot goes to the desktop organizer. This is a great tool for crafters who have a lot of little supplies that can easily get lost or hidden in the midst of all the other junk on their desks.

There are many different varieties of desktop organizers to choose from, so it’s easy to find one that fits your specific needs. Whether you need slots for pens, paper clips, or stamps, there’s definitely an organizer out there for you. Plus, they’re usually fairly affordable so there’s no reason not to pick one up!
Magnetic Knife Strip
At number five is the magnetic knife strip! This is a great tool for crafters who like to work with a variety of different materials and need quick access to their scissors, knives, and other sharp tools. Plus it’s a great way to keep your blades out of the reach of little ones!
